James E. Moore, CFA - Founder / Chairman
Jim is an entrepreneur with over 35 years of experience in the finance and investment industries, including both the public and private capital markets. He has acted as a founder, investor and manager of numerous companies in diverse industries (including, among many others, energy, entertainment, financial services, healthcare and technology), and has been involved with companies in virtually all stages of development and growth. Jim’s background and experience include involvement at the senior level in corporate finance, investment banking, and private equity/venture capital investing - including leveraged buyouts.
He has also been involved at the senior level in building money management/investment advisory companies from an early stage to multi-billion dollars of assets under management/advisory, and then achieving liquidity with these companies. During his involvement with these companies, Jim managed portfolios for institutions, and also high-net-worth families and individuals including an Academy Award winning Best Actor and Best Actress.
Jim is a Founder and Chairman of KQM Entertainment Group, LLC, a company involved in various aspects of the entertainment industry including music publishing and film production. Jim holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a licensed California Real Estate Broker. He is also a licensed Nevada Real Estate Broker-Salesperson (including a Business Broker Permit), and is affiliated with ERA Brokers Consolidated in Nevada. He received his MBA degree from the University of Chicago and a BA degree from Claremont McKenna College. He also attended Franklin University Switzerland, an international university attended by students from throughout the world; and has lived in Switzerland, Brazil and Italy. For many years, Jim was a member of the Board of Trustees and the Investment Committees of both Claremont McKenna College and Franklin University Switzerland, and is a recipient of the Distinguished/Outstanding Service Awards from each institution.
Jim’s interests include wine collecting, tennis, and martial arts. He is an inductee into 5 martial arts halls of fame and an Ambassador and History General for the Sport Karate Museum.
Kaitlin Q. Moore - FOUNDER / President
Kaitlin performs film production, directing, freelance content creating, and social media marketing consulting services for various individuals and companies primarily in the entertainment industry. Previously, she worked on the TV series, “The Voice”.
Kaitlin is a Founder and Chief Executive Officer of KQM Entertainment Group, LLC that owns the KQM Production Music catalog described under James E. Moore above. This catalog can be accessed at kqmproductionmusic.com.
She is a graduate of the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts at Chapman University. She was a Chancellor Scholar at Dodge where she majored in Film Production (with an emphasis in Directing), and double-minored in Broadcast Journalism and Business. As part of her senior thesis, Kaitlin co-wrote and directed an award-winning short film, “Off With Your Head,” the origin story of Alice in Wonderland’s Queen of Hearts and her descent into madness.
While attending Chapman University, Kaitlin produced her own radio show on Chapman Radio, completed an internship with [Ryan] Seacrest Studios, and completed internships with Clear Talent Group (talent agency) and The Mission Entertainment. She also completed the Semester at Sea (“SAS”) study-abroad program in which she circumnavigated the globe - followed by touring Europe and attending Franklin University Switzerland to study business before returning to Chapman. Kaitlin is a member and alumna of Kappa Alpha Theta, an international sorority for leading women.
Prior to attending Chapman University, Kaitlin attended Marymount High School LA where she was a student filmmaker and actress. Additionally, she worked as an assistant dance teacher for the head of the department at this high school.
Kaitlin is interested in fitness and has worked as a spin instructor. While she loves all her activities and endeavors - her biggest passions are acting and singing/songwriting.
GAIL A. GUERIN
Gail has been involved in brand management, strategic positioning, fundraising and investor relations for organizations in the financial services industry for the past 30+ years.
She founded an independent marketing consulting firm in 2004, to capitalize on her years of experience positioning and marketing private equity strategies globally. Previously, Gail was a Senior Partner and Director of Marketing & Investor Relations at Baring Private Equity Partners, London, where she supported the global private equity platform comprised of teams in Asia, India, Russia, Latin America and Europe. Before joining Baring, Gail was Director of Marketing and Fundraising at Hamilton Lane and a Vice President in the Fixed Income group at Morgan Stanley & Company in New York.
Gail received a BS in Educational Psychology and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin where she was a Teacher’s Assistant in the Statistics Department. Gail is a frequent speaker at investment industry conferences across the globe where she also manages training workshops in the area of fund formation and marketing strategy. Gail and Jim Moore met over twenty years ago when they were both senior members of a California-based asset management firm, and have remained good friends and confidants ever since.
Gail’s interests include travel, the arts and the successes of her daughter, Alexandra.
BEN ZIJLSTRA
Ben is an entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience in the finance and investment industries on an international scale. He is currently acting as an independent contractor, particularly in the areas of asset management, real estate consulting and real estate investments.
He has been involved with companies at senior levels in various industries, and in virtually all stages of development and growth. In particular, he has started and developed real estate investment funds with multi-billion dollars of assets under management, one of which was listed on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange. More than 40 real estate funds were initiated with his involvement and placed in the Dutch, German and Austrian markets. His real estate funds have held assets in the Netherlands, Canada, Poland, and the United States.
Ben was raised in the northern part of the Netherlands and currently resides in that country. His extensive network, especially in Europe, adds significant depth and breadth to Moore Global’s efforts. He received his MBA degree from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, Arizona, USA; and his BA degree from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California, USA – where he was a soccer player. Ben is fluent in Dutch and English, and has a good command of German.
